Hi there, my name is Riaan de Kock.  I was born in the beautiful town of Stellenbosch, but recently moved to Cape Town, from where I work as a National tourguide all over South Africa. I love travelling and sharing this beautiful country with visitors and through my travels I get in contact with a wide variety of people and experience their living conditions first-hand.

On tour we often visit a little school or charity project and most of the time, my guests also want to get involved and support the local communities and their initiatives.  These visits basically led to the birth of Deeds for their Needs, and the support is often ongoing long after the first visit.

What I love about Deeds for their Needs, is that we personally  know the people and their community, and their projects and initiatives, and that assures that the donations reach the people who desperately need it and does not get lost amidst admin and red tape. Your donation reaches those in need, in a direct and practical way.

Because I travel a lot, I am personally able to visit the projects and see progress and needs. I get involved first hand wherever I can – a lot of planning, building, painting, fixing, handing out parcel and clothes forms part of my #deedsfortheirneeds 

Join our family and #dosomegood !

Kristien de Kock

Hi, I am Kristien!

I have been part of DEEDS for their NEEDS since 2014 and I am passionate about what the project stands for and the difference DEEDS have in the daily lives of people. You get to know amazing people and learn about their personal circumstances and they also allow you into their homes and hearts.

DEEDS for their NEEDS is close to my heart, because it is a practical, selfless and unpretentious way to support people and communities. DEEDS for their NEEDS is about enthusiasm, giving your time and energy, getting your hands dirty and having fun with the community. We have built a sandpit, helped to paint a home, handed out blankets, gloves and beanies against the winter cold, provided lunch to a school who then treated us to a thank you song and set up kids with their school gear for the new school year. Any deed, no matter how small, can have an effect on someone in a community and even if it just makes their life better for 1 day, it is better than not getting involved at all!

Hi my name is Pieter and since November 2016 a proud member and volunteer of DEEDS for their NEEDS. During my first holiday in South Africa I decided to do some DEEDS for their NEEDS. I decided to run the semi marathon (CPC) in the Hague to collect money to support DEEDS for their NEEDS. After this activity I received so many enthusiastic reactions and it gave me so much energy that I decided to do some more challenges, like running the marathon in Eindhoven, Amsterdam and Rotterdam, run two marathons in one week to support the great work of DEEDS for their NEEDS, also together with family and friends. After one year in December 2017 Lydia and I went back to South Africa to support all the activities of DEEDS for their NEEDS and I even got more excited. We have supported schools, families and children and even more important we could make that little difference to give everybody a smile for the moment.
